What this meditation helps with

  • a spinning, overwhelmed mind
  • a body stuck in fight-or-flight
  • tight chest, shallow breath and tension
  • that wired-but-tired feeling after a hard day

How it works

This session works through guided visualization. A calm, unhurried voice leads you the whole way — you don’t need any experience, a technique of your own, or a quiet mind to begin. Over about 10 minutes it eases you in, does its gentle work, and returns you softly, so your nervous system has time to actually shift rather than being rushed.

Who it's for

women carrying more than their share — juggling work, people and pressure — who need a reliable way back to calm.

When to listen

Best the moment you notice the overwhelm rising, or as a daily reset at the same time each day.

Find yourself a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down, allowing your body to settle, releasing any tension you might be holding onto, and just allow yourself to simply be here, right now.

Close your eyes gently, or soften your gaze, allowing the world outside to fade into the background as you turn your attention inward, to the sanctuary of your own being.

Begin to notice your breath, the gentle rise and fall of your chest or abdomen, without trying to change it in any way, simply observing the natural rhythm of your breathing.

Each inhale is a fresh beginning, a chance to renew yourself, and each exhale is a release, letting go of any stress, tension, or worries you might be carrying.

And with each breath, you find yourself drifting deeper into a state of relaxation, a sense of calm washing over you, like a gentle wave smoothing the sand.

Now, imagine a peaceful, tranquil place, a place where you feel completely safe and at ease, perhaps a quiet forest, a sunny beach, or a cozy room filled with soft light. This place is yours.

Feel the warmth of the sun on your skin, hear the gentle sounds of nature around you, or smell the fragrant scent of flowers or the fresh, clean air.

Allow yourself to fully immerse in this serene environment, noticing every detail, every sensation, letting it soothe your mind and calm your body, and let the peace surround you.

As you breathe in, imagine drawing in the calm and peace of this place, filling your body with serenity, and as you breathe out, release any remaining tension or stress, letting it dissipate into the atmosphere.

Notice how your body begins to relax even further, muscles softening, your breath becoming deeper and more regular, and you just let it all go.

Allow any thoughts that arise to simply float by, like clouds in the sky, without getting caught up in them, without judgment, just observing them and letting them pass.

You are the sky, and the thoughts are just passing clouds - you are the space in which everything happens.

Recognize that this moment, right now, is all you truly have, and in this moment, you are safe, you are calm, and you are at peace.

Embrace the present moment, release any worries about the past or anxieties about the future, and simply be present, here and now, grounded and centered.

You are resilient, you are strong, and you have the ability to navigate any challenge that comes your way with grace and ease.

Remember this feeling of calm and peace, this sanctuary within you, and know that you can return to it anytime you need to, simply by closing your eyes and focusing on your breath.

Acknowledge yourself for taking this time to reset, to reconnect with your inner peace, and for nurturing your well-being.

You are capable of handling anything that today, or any day, brings.

You have everything you need within you, always.

Now, gently begin to bring your awareness back to the room, to the sounds around you, to the sensations in your body.

Take a few deeper breaths, stretching your body gently, and wiggling your fingers and toes, reawakening your senses.

When you are ready, slowly open your eyes, feeling refreshed, renewed, and ready to face the rest of your day with a sense of calm and clarity.

Carry this feeling of peace with you throughout your day, knowing that you can always return to this inner sanctuary whenever you need to.

And so it is.
